Since my move to San Jose in October 2017 I have embarked on a journey of full-time yoga teaching with a side of contracting in marketing. While I sometimes miss the dependability and reliability of my corporate life - I'm watching my yoga career transform in ways I never imagined. In less than a year I teach at some of the top studios, I sit with and learn from some of the most brilliant minds in the area and I am enjoying a whole different realm of personal practice. Thank you California!
ABOUT MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I never started teaching yoga because I thought it was important for people to do handstands or splits. It's not really about that. Postures are tools to help us understand our own trends and patterns. When we practice being calm and breathing in a position that feels difficult or frustrating - then we are training our stress response in a difficult or frustrating position - we literally learn to reprogram our own response to challenging situations one breath at a time.
In the same breath that I am passionate about yoga as a tool to overcome - I am also passionate about teaching really smart, cutting edge movement techniques that restore healthy range of motion, reduce pain and improve performance in all aspects of our lives. I'm also passionate about bringing humor, music and a light heart into my classes. Life can be hard - why shouldn't there be some joy and silliness in a yoga class? With 12 years of experience I can teach a wide range of classes and modalities and bring a specialization in deep tissue release using therapy balls. Want to learn more? Or take a class together?
